First Visit
On behalf of the entire team at Tennessee Valley Endodontics, we would like to welcome you! We are pleased that you have chosen our practice and want you to know that we are committed to providing you with the highest quality care in the most gentle, efficient and enthusiastic manner possible!
Your visit begins with a warm greeting in our comfortable lobby where you can enjoy a complimentary coffee, soft drink or water. When it is time for your appointment, one of our caring staff members will personally escort you to one of our patient rooms. Each room has cable TV and a window looking out at our beautiful, landscaped courtyard. A staff member will spend time discussing your dental concerns and Dr. Moore will do a detailed exam to diagnose your condition, followed by a consultation explaining your treatment options.
We recognize that your time is a precious asset. For that reason, a time will be reserved for you to best accommodate your schedule and to allow the time needed to provide optimal care. Our office sees only a limited number of patients and it is our sincere goal to completely eliminate delays.
To help ensure your registration and first visit go smoothly, please provide the following information
|
Your referral slip and any important X-rays |
|
A list of all medications you are presently taking and medical conditions of concern |
|
If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary information needed to complete forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims |
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at their consultation appointment.
Initial Consultation Appointments
An initial consultation appointment may be scheduled to evaluate your medical history or to determine what treatment or special needs are necessary. During that appointment a diagnosis will be made after a clinical examination, and recommended treatment and options will be discussed. Occasionally, endodontic treatment can be completed the same day as the consultation. However, in order to have adequate time to complete your endodontic treatment, a second appointment on a different day may be needed.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, mitral valve prolapse, heart murmur, hip, knee or other joint replacement, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, Coumadin, Plavix or any other “blood thinner”, etc.).
X-Rays
If your dentist has taken x-rays of the area of concern, you may request that they forward them to our office to assist in diagnosis (digital x-rays can be forwarded to our office via e-mail: [email protected] ). We will make new digital x-rays of the teeth to be examined on the day of your appointment. In addition, complex diagnosis may require a Cone Beam CT scan which is also available at our office.
Treatment Appointments
If your dentist has determined that root canal treatment is necessary or if you have already seen us for an initial consultation, we will schedule a treatment appointment for you.
If we have not previously seen you, an examination will be done on the day of your scheduled appointment to confirm the type of treatment needed.
If your appointment is in the morning, please eat a normal breakfast unless otherwise directed (sedation patients should have no food or drink for 6 hours prior to appointment).
