Meet The Doctor
Richard E. Moore, D.D.S.
Dr. Richard (“Rick”) Moore is a native East Tennesseean, growing up in Clinton, Tennessee. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1986, and attended college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1986-1990. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1994, from the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis; and he earned his specialty certification from the University of Michigan in 1996.
After successfully completing his Endodontic residency in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Moore returned to East Tennessee and acquired his current specialty practice in Knoxville. He enjoys all aspects of Endodontics, especially priding himself on comfortable, exceptional care. Dr. Moore continually enhances his practice with the latest technology. He was the first Endodontist in Knoxville to have a surgical microscope, one of the first to utilize digital x-rays and he was the first Endodontist in Tennessee to incorporate 3-D (Cone Beam CT) radiography into his practice. These leading edge technologies enhance root canal diagnosis and treatment producing more predictable and comfortable outcomes.
Continuing education is another of Dr. Moore’s top priorities. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Southern Endodontic Study Group, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Second District Dental Society, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), and the Anderson County Dental Society.
Rick met his classmate and future wife, Mary Helen, while attending dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. The Moores have two wonderful children.
The Moores are members of St. John Neuman Catholic Church. They enjoy travel, University of Tennessee football games, the Smoky Mountains, boating on Norris Lake, kids sports, dancing and school events; and most importantly, time with family and friends.
